And as long as you have purchased a badge, you may come and go as you please.
What is Bakuretsu Con's Weapon Policy?
All props that might, maybe, could possibly a weapon must be peace bound by a security staffer.
Live Steel is not permitted anywhere in the convention center
Any weapon over 5' is not permitted in the convention center (we have short ceilings)
ANYTHING THAT CAN FIRE A PROJECTILE IS NOT ALLOWED IN THE CONVENTION!
If you need it for your cosplay skit, the cosplay director has final say if it can make it on stage.
And as long as you have purchased a badge, you may come and go as you please.

Is 5' the official limit this year? I ask because I feel like it was 5'7" last year. I remember reading that... somewhere. I think it was the con booklet, but I'm not 100 percent sure on that.

Re: somebody from the con. staff please read
It was 5' 7" last year and this straight from the con book.
No cosplay props over 5’7” are allowed in the convention hall. If an item over this length is meant for use in the cosplay contest only, it will be stored by the convention staff until such time, when you may pick it up.

To settle this, the con book and website are out of synch (this happens) 5' is official. We'll be updating the con book. Thanks for the catch.
To answer specifically about wooden weapons, if you made it out of wood like a keyblade, or a staff or something its generally cool but you know be careful with it. If we catch you swinging it around we'll make you get rid of it. A weapon doesn't make a costume.
Our policy for martial arts weapons is generally no, so Boken, Shenai, etc (Unless part of a skit or panel). If you have concerns please email me at programming@bakuretsucon.org

ok so a wooden weapon that goes to your cosplay is permitted as long as the holder is responsible and doesnt use it like a weapon, and the weapon meets the standard length?
sorry for the questions this last one should answer my question completely

Security has the final call on all weapons but generally it is ok.
