So guys this is my first year entering an amv... so i want to see how many videos people are entering and for what categories... and what program ...

I have made 3

all in the Comedy/Upbeat/Other Category

using windows movie maker...

I think this is my fourth or fifth year submitting. I sent two this year, one Fun/Upbeat/Comedy/Other, the other either Drama or Romance, I don't remember which I listed it as off the top of my head.

I used Final Cut Pro as my editing program for both.

I was trying to get one more finished before the deadline, but it just didn't come together quickly enough. Ah, well, there's always next year.

I had like 8 but i took another look at the rules... and was like o shi+ and i had to remake and rethink some amv's...

I've submitted every year (this being meh 3rd). The first year I did this vid: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=0l0lm4gn5qM and it won best of show! XD I was like o.O Your kidding me, right? I though I maybe had a slight chance at winning Catagory, but INEVER thought I could go for gold! XD The nest year was this one: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=QqP9EjdsQQE but it didn't win either.

thats fine but the two videos on youtube you have links for.... are well wrong... i think ... cuz well they have watermarks... divx video and that is against the ruels right so how did they win?

Idk... I think the watermarks they talk about are ones that advertise specific programs. DivX is a codec... That's the only thing I can think of anyways.

Adam would be the one to answer that question as he is the one who runs the amv contest. The reason your video won best in show that year Luinta was because it deserved to win.....It was a good video....

The "no watermark" rule is new this year, I'm pretty sure (it was added to the Anime Boston rules this year as well, and Adam also runs that).

And the DivX logo counts as a watermark, but it's (link)very easy to get rid of as long as you follow those steps before you export your video from your editing program.

It seems the no watermark rule was added in 2007 for Anime Boston. (however, this really has no bearing on Bakuretsucon )

I can confirm that the DivX watermark "counts," as I know videos were automatically disqualified from AB2008's contest for them.
